Rep. Young meets with Dunedin High School Highlander Band

Representative C.W. Bill Young was honored to welcome the Dunedin High School Scottish Highlander Band to Washington, D.C.  The band traveled to our nation’s capital to perform in the 2012 Spirit of America Music Festival.  While in D.C., the band performed on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and toured the United States Capitol.  While there, the students met with Representative Young and he presented them a flag flown over the Capitol.

“These students are extremely talented musicians who honor the Scottish heritage of the city of Dunedin,” Young said.  “Their performance is truly unique, mixing both modern music and traditional Scottish songs and they are one of a hand full of Kilted High School bands in the U.S. with Bag pipes.  I congratulate them for being selected to participate in this music festival and know all of these students will find future success.”
